The San Antonio's Finest Basketball Organization (SAFBO) is a not for profit 501 (c) (3)corporation  established in April 2007.  Two Coaches, after diligently researching the girls youth basketball community in San Antonio, decided to unite and make a difference. Both families have committed their time and energy to establish an organization that will benefit our young student athletes. SAFBO philosophy will encourage young girls to take up the sport at an early age. This early emphasis on player development will ensure that San Antonio's Finest players can and will compete against players across the nation and be successful. We are an organization that develops players with high basketball intelligence.  We are an organization that is respected by its peers.  Ultimately, San Antonio's Finest Basketball Organization (SAFBO) will not only be well known through out the State but the Nation as well. We are offering an alternative to recreational basketball teams to a more competitive arena. Athletes who participate will be expected to maintain a high level of commitment to their academics along with their commitment to improving their basketball skills.

Coach Ray:

He is a former CIFSS scoring champ and 3rd in the state of California (30.3 ppg). He was nominated to CIFSS All-State 1st team, All-County 1st team, and League MVP. He is a former Division 1 NCAA prospect and a Jr. College stand out. He has been coaching/training basketball athletes over 7 years including numerous Division I players. He has been around the game his entire life. Coach Ray moved to San Antonio in March of 07 and co-founded SA Finest April of 07. He is the Head Coach to the 7th and 8th grade girl’s team and TeamXpress 8th grade Adidas team. Coach Ray holds various types of training from individual to group training's. He is a student of the game and dedicates his time to the SA Finest parents and players.

Coach Alex:

He has been coaching youth basketball for over 6 years. He started his first travel (competitive) team in California, The Rancho Hot Shots in 2006. He moved to San Antonio in July of 06. He co-founded SA Finest in April of 07. He is the Head Coach to the 4th Grade girls and boys team, Head Coach to the 6th grade girl’s team. Alex also holds training sessions for Middle school teams. He is a student of the game and dedicates his time to the SA Finest parents and players.

What sets us apart?  We are not just a team trying to collect trophies. We are an organization which puts the athlete's development first and believe the trophies will come later. We are bringing back the lost art of fundamentals to the game. All our athletes will learn to play the game of basketball while being students of the game. We teach basketball in practice and coach in the game. Our athletes will be able to play in any program when going into high school. They will master the art of proper foot work, dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. We emphasize team work, effort, and heart. Our athletes are expected to react (think) as the game dictates. We run a structure program but at the same time the athletes will be able to think outside the box.
